ARTICLE: Nobody said it was easy

It has been a pretty tough week at Diary of a Fit Bird HQ! Work has been incredibly busy (which is not a complaint) and I have decided to update the whole of my 4321 Signature Collection as well as shoot a whole new programme called the Masters Series. I thought that I would be able to manage all these tasks no problem, but it turns out taking on so much can be very stressful!

Being self employed and trying to build a business that I can be proud of as well as trying to be the best personal trainer for my clients that I can be is full on. There is so much to juggle, from my schedule with clients, to checking food diaries, blogging, marketing, filming and editing all as a one woman band. Whilst I constantly feel as though I am spinning plates, it seems to work…most of the time! This week I was put to the test! Time management was a big issue as was prioritising. It was physically impossible to do everything that I needed to do so I had to work out what was the most important. I know for sure that I am not alone in trying to fit everything into a week, in fact if anything I have it easy at the moment because I have no children. There are plenty of clients that are juggling as much as I am, plus have children! I genuinely do not know how they do it.

What I have realised is that nobody has it easy. No matter what our individual situations we are all just trying to fit in as much as possible into our week and this does cause enormous amounts of stress and it is something that we need to try to get under control.

As you might remember, I addressed this a little last week by vowing to put my phone down more and allowing myself to truly switching, but even with doing that, this week was very challenging. At this time it is impossible for me to reduce the workload however, it is something I will address in the near future. It will just take a couple of months before I can really get on top of it. Therefore, my current solution to reduce the stress is to change my attitude towards the situation. Instead of getting overwhelmed and stressed out I have decided to take it all one day at a time. Doing as much as possible in that time and not berating myself for falling short. There is only 24 hours in a day after all and I am just one person!

I have also decided to just look at it positively. Having a busy vibrant business that helps people reach their goals is what I have always wanted and it is very much taking shape, so every single minute of hard work is absolutely worth it. I really do think if you are working hard for something you are passionate about it makes life much easier and in all honesty I could not be any happier. It is still difficult at times, but then nobody said it would be easy!

Hope you have a great week!
